Chicago's Son With an L.A. Hue

LISTEN HERE

This song was wriiten shortly after one of my largest influences in songwriting passed away. Warren Zevon, one of the greatest songwriters of all time, passed away in 2004 - he is greatly missed.

LYRICS (written by Jay Stevens)

There's a man I don't know, Who's helped me a lot
time is running out for that man

The Chicago sun, sets on the hill
while the LA sun still stands

Some things are not as they seem
some things are not as they seem
I feel like I've had a bad dream
but I've got a new sense of direction

So many songs, have hit me so hard
and every song has it's own meaning
I play them at night, in my head in the dark
while the whole wide world lay sleeping

Sometimes things aren't as they seem
sometimes things aren't as they seem
I feel like I've had a bad dream
but I've got a new sense of direction

The Chicago sun, sets on the hill
while the LA sun is still beating

Sometimes things aren't as they seem
sometimes things aren't as they seem
I feel like I've had a bad dream
but I've got a new sense of direction
